Describing the Classical education model, Dr. Brake observes, “Rather than water down our curriculum, our liberal arts program challenges students to master, through the Socratic Method, intellectual heavyweights such as Plato and Aristotle; Augustine and Aquinas; Dante and Shakespeare, to name a few. Our integrated curriculum certainly does not shy away from rigorous Math and Science either, as the Truth resides in these fields of study as well.”

Currently in its sixth year, SMA is the first Catholic high school in the Little Traverse area since 1972, and Northern Michigan’s only high school offering a Classical Curriculum.
