Join cyclists worldwide in a silent slow-paced ride (max. 12 mph/20 kph) in honor of those who have been injured or killed while cycling on public roadways.
On May 18, 2016, at 7:00 PM, the Ride of Silence will begin in North America and roll across the globe. Cyclists will take to the roads in a silent procession to honor cyclists who have been killed or injured while cycling on public roadways. Although cyclists have a legal right to share the road with motorists, the motoring public often isn't aware of these rights, and sometimes not aware of the cyclists themselves.
The 9th Annual Harbor Springs Ride of Silence will start and finish downtown at the city parking lot of the Harbormaster (250 E. Bay St.) just East of the Pier restaurant. The Harbor Springs Ride of Silence is organized by Christopher Benson who survived being struck by a vehicle in 2007 while riding on an open road.
The ride is FREE and open to anyone with a bicycle and a helmet (*helmets required*) The ride course is approximately 8 miles in and around Harbor Springs. Riders are asked to arrive at the start by 6:30pm for sign in, pre-ride instructions and staging.
Please visit the website for more information or contact the organizer with any questions or if you wish to volunteer.
