Oleson’s Food Stores in Petoskey and Charlevoix are hosting a “Dollar Drive” Sunday, November 13 through Thanksgiving Day to support domestic abuse survivors and their children utilizing services at the Women’s Resource Center of Northern Michigan’s Safe Home. Last year, the Safe Home provided 2,898 nights of refuge and more than 8,600 meals at no charge to 133 women and children from Antrim, Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Emmet and Otsego counties. The “Dollar Drive” offsets Safe Home food and supply costs that exceed $25,000 annually. Lite 96.3 will also host a nonperishable food and supply drive at the Petoskey Oleson’s store 4-6 p.m., Tuesday, November 22. Oleson’s is located at 2000 US-31 North, Petoskey, and 112 Antrim Street, Charlevoix. For a Safe Home Needs List, visit www.wrcnm.org.
