North Central Michigan College’s Department of Allied Health offers monthly American Heart Association Classes for businesses and individuals wishing to attain life-saving skills and required certification. Following American Heart Association (AHA) best practices, students will observe, practice and demonstrate the skills needed to respond appropriately to emergencies in the workplace and community.
Classes will be held in the Health Education and Science Center, Room 351. Advance registration is required.
On the first Monday of each month, starting April 4, Jim Cousino, North Central’s EMS Coordinator will offer:
• Heartsaver CPR/AED (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation/Automated External Defibrillators) from 8:30 a.m. to noon. $53 per person for new certification; $45/renewal.
• Heartsaver First Aid from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. for $45/person.
On the second Monday of each month, starting April 11, Basic Life Support for Providers will be offered from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. There is a $69/provider for new certification; $59/renewal.
