February 17 – Wings of Wonder. Rebecca Lessard founded a non-profit raptor sanctuary in Empire, Michigan, to foster appreciation, understanding and respect for raptors and to help the public learn the important role these birds play in healthy ecosystems. With rehabilitation permits from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, she uses non-releasable raptors to tell a compelling story to thousands of people. The planned Sunset Coast Birding Trail will also be discussed. This lecture will be held in the Iron Horse Café.
