Coffee @ Ten with Ann Loveless

Ann Loveless is a Northern Michigan quilt artist that captures the beauty of Northern Michigan in her art quilts. Ann has a clothing and textile degree with an emphasis in art from Michigan State University. She has had a love of sewing and fabric all her life and since 2005 has found her calling in art quilts which utilizes her sewing and art talent. Two of Ann’s quilts have been accepted in the American Quilters Society, Paducah, KY; 2007 “Ski Village” and 2009 “Trillium”. “Birches” quilt was shown at the Albuquerque Fiber Festival in New Mexico, won a 3 rd place award at the Art Works Alliance juried show in Traverse City and it also was accepted into the 2008 Michigan Govenor’s Artist Residency Program and hung in Jennifer Granholm home in East Lansing. Ann has also had 5 commission pieces that are hanging at Munson Hospital in Traverse City and 1 commission piece for Crystal Mountain’s spa building in Thompsonville. MI Ann also has several commission pieces at Paul Oliver Hospital Acute Care Facility in Frankfort, Michigan. Ann displayed at the Gerald Ford Presidential Museum in Grand Rapids for ArtPrize competition in 2011 with “Trillium” and 2012 with “Seasons” with a top 25 award. Ann was the featured artist at the Leland Fiber Festival in 2011. In 2012 Ann won “Peoples Choice” award for her quilt “Autumn” in Fiber 577 exhibit in Perrysburg, OH. Ann also won “Peoples Choice”award at the ArtRapids art fair in Elk Rapids, MI. Ann exhibit her “Poppies” quilt at the AQS Grand Rapids Quilt Show in August 2013 in Grand Rapids, MI. Ann won first place in the ArtPrize 2013 competition with her four paneled quilt “Sleeping Bear Dune Lakeshore”. In 2015 Ann ‘s book was published titled “Landscape Art Quilts”. Ann and husband Steve won 2015 ArtPrize people choice award with “Northwood Awakening”. Ann won honorable mention award at AQS Grand Rapids with “Sunset”.
