2020 Safe Harbor Heroes

This year, via on-line nominations and social media attention, you will honor those who have been on the front lines, in the trenches, carried the weight of our businesses and community during these past six months during the Coronavirus Pandemic.  Introducing Safe Harbor Heroes!  Safe Harbor Heroes is our way for all of us to honor those who have been the backbone of our businesses, schools, homes...  They have allowed us to keep our doors open.  They have served food, handed out meals, delivered meals, watched our children...  Anyone who brings to mind the ideal of team, and working for the betterment of others.  This is who we must thank.  
 
Here's how you may participate: 

Member Businesses
$300 - Be a Safe Harbor Heroes Sponsor - Your business will be identified in all materials and publications about the recipients. (Newsletters, social media and fliers distributed around town.) You will also be offered the opportunity to share in the presentation to the recipient, at their place of business. 

Everyone
$25 - Nominate a worthy individual. Please include a short description as to why you feel they are a worthy recipient within the Comments section.  (Submit your Safe Harbor Hero nominee by Friday, September 25, 2020.)
 
Due to the generosity of our sponsors, voting will be at no cost.  We will send out a call to vote on Monday, September 28.  Vote as often as you'd like. 
 
The voting will determine the top five (5) Harbor Heroes - Each will receive a $100 Visa Gift Certificate, along with a certificate of acknowledgement.
 
The nominations will be tallied daily on the Chamber website.
Nominations and Voting will end Monday, October 5, 2020, at 5:00 pm.
 
The five Safe Harbor Heroes will be announced on Tuesday, October 6, 2020. The Harbor Springs Area Chamber of Commerce and Award Sponsors will visit the recipients at their place of business and present them with their gift of thanks.
 
Safe Harbor Heroes will culminate with a Full Page Advertisement in the Harbor Light Newspaper on Wednesday, October 7, 2020, listing and thanking everyone nominated along with those who placed nominations, and our Sponsors.  
 
Ultimately, this is to THANK those who may have gone unnoticed or felt under-appreciated. We also hope to generate a bit of fun and excitement as we head into Fall in Northern Michigan.  We are continually working together to help keep Harbor Springs the Safe Harbor we know and love.
