110th Annual Harbor Springs Christmas Tree Lighting

Celebrate 110 years of a magical tradition in downtown Harbor Springs at the annual Christmas Tree Lighting! This beloved event brings the community together to kick off the holiday season with festive cheer, sparkling lights, and plenty of hometown spirit.
Beginning at 6:00 p.m., gather with friends, family, and neighbors to sing carols, count down to the lighting of the beautifully decorated Main Street tree, and celebrate the winners of the annual Holiday Window Decorating Contest. At the same moment, all of the trees lining Main Street will illuminate creating a breathtaking holiday scene that captures the heart of the season.
🎅 More Festivities:
After the lighting, everyone is invited to an ecumenical chili dinner in the Holy Childhood Parish Hall at 150 W. Main Street. Enjoy homemade cookies and hot cocoa—courtesy of the American Legion Auxiliary and their sponsor First Community Bank—and don’t miss a chance to visit Santa Claus himself!
✨ Tree Lighting Matinee Special:
Start your day with a bit of Christmas magic! The Harbor Springs Lyric Theatre will host a free holiday matinee at 11:00 a.m. in all three theaters. Advance tickets (available in person only) are required for the movie.
📬 Santa’s Mailbox:
Don’t forget to drop off letters to Santa in the special Santa Mailbox at the Lyric Theatre anytime during December.
🚧 Street Closure:
Please note that Main Street (west of State Street) will be closed to traffic starting at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
